Page Yield
Page yield is the estimated number of pages that can be printed with a printer cartridge.
The page yield is determined by running tests following the procedure defined by ISO,International Organization for Standardization.
The actual number of page yield will vary depending on;
- the toner/ink coverage of the documents
- the number of pages per job
- paper size
- frequency of using printer
- temperature etc…
ISO page yield a reliable way to compare products from competing manufacturers, since all tests are subjected to the same set of ISO testing standards.
Black and White cartridge
ISO/IEC19752 Standard data
In the test procedure for Black and White cartridges (ISO/IEC 19752) a standard test page is used. The toner coverage of this page is 5%.
This A4 page is continuously printed until the cartridge reaches end of life.
Color cartridges
In the test procedure for Colour cartridges (ISO/ IEC 19798 and 24711) a set of 5 different standard pages is used.
Represent approximately 20% coverage (approximately 5% each for black and the three colors - cyan, magenta, and yellow).
This A4 page is continuously printed until the cartridge reaches end of life.
